Parent-Child Dedications at Riverside
This is a simple ceremony in which we acknowledge a child is a gift entrusted to us by God. The parents commit their child to the loving care and keeping of the Lord, and they affirm their desire to raise him in the knowledge and instruction of God. It gives us as a church an opportunity to declare our desire to help and support you as parents in that process.
1 Samuel 1:27-28 Hannah said of her son Samuel, "For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD.”
We pray that the young ones in our church family grow up to know the Lord, to place their faith in Him at a young age and desire to be baptized, and to be a light for Christ in this very dark world.
